Please note that quotations are generally free (some costs might be incurred on large volume quotations, or on quotations that involve hand-written script).

- Confidentiality -
In the interest of confidentiality, all Brainwoods staff (both internal and external) sign
non-disclosure agreements prior to commencing employment with us.

/ About quotations /
Quotations are conducted promptly; in about 30 minutes to one hour for urgent business. Please send us texts by e-mail, fax, or mail first. (Please let us know if the text is confidential so that we can prepare documents to ensure its protection.) You can use our quotation form as well. Alternatively, one of our representatives can visit you and provide you with a formal quote. Quotations are generally free. (Some cost may be incurred depending on the amount, or where texts are hand-written or printed.) Please make sure to tell us the deadline, level of translation required, text style, and for what purpose the document is intended. A special fee will be charged for documents that deal with technical fields. Please ask for more details. We add a maximum 50 percent service fee to the basic price for special cases, such as express or late-night service.

/ Advice for quotations and orders /
Please note the information below. This is important if we are to provide the best possible service that meets your needs and at a reasonable cost.

- Deadlines -
Please contact us as early as possible. A special fee will be added for urgent business since we must book several translators to complete an assignment overnight, while one suffices for a weeklong project.

- Level of translation depending on requirements -
We can complete translations to varying levels: from those that are designed to merely convey the basic meaning of the contents, to others that are suitable for public distribution. In cases where only confirmation of the contents is sufficient, we offer basic translation service, without rewriting, at a low cost. On the other hand, rewriting and checking are definitely required for documents destined for publication. Please nominate the translation level that best suits your needs.

- Text and translation style -
In the case of English translations, please designate British or American English since vocabulary and spelling differ between the two. Also, for Japanese translations, you may choose formal or informal language. Or, if it's Chinese, we can use different styles of characters. Please feel free ask us whatever you like with regard to style. Also, in addition to ordinary text services, we offer translations for special circumstances, such as finding an appropriate name for a new product, developing catchphrases, and writing advertising copy.
