These are the minimum periods needed to recommend the most suitable service, select an interpreter, and arrange transportation to the assignment location.
We cannot dispatch an interpreter on the day of an inquiry or the following business day.
The full-day rate covers an 8-hour booking (7 working hours plus a 1-hour lunch break). Beyond 8 hours, overtime is charged by the hour at 125% of the hourly interpretation rate. Extensions of less than 15 minutes are disregarded; extensions of 15 minutes or more are treated as overtime.
The half-day rate covers a 3-hour booking. Beyond 3 hours, overtime is charged by the hour at 125% of the hourly interpretation rate. Extensions of less than 15 minutes are disregarded; extensions of 15 minutes or more are treated as overtime.
An additional surcharge may apply to early-morning or late-night assignments.
Transportation and business travel expenses are charged separately. Taxi fares may also be included when travel is required early in the morning or late at night, or when the location has poor public transportation access.
Travel expenses and compensation for travel time are charged separately when the assignment is more than 100 km from the nearest station to the interpreter's home or requires at least 2 hours of travel each way. Accommodation costs and a daily allowance may also apply.
Interpretation demands sustained concentration and is highly taxing, so one interpreter cannot normally cover a long assignment alone. Multiple interpreters may be needed to maintain effective communication. The general staffing guidelines are as follows.

When we arrange a local interpreter for an overseas assignment, an international coordination fee equal to 10% of the interpretation fee is charged separately.
Remote interpretation for conversations between separate locations over a video call is generally charged at the same rate as on-site interpretation.

Once a booking is confirmed, the following cancellation fees apply as a percentage of the total quoted amount, excluding transportation expenses.

Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays are excluded when calculating these periods. Cancellations are accepted on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Notices received after 5:00 p.m. are treated as having been received at 10:00 a.m. on the following business day.
